Designer- Thalia

This project was for a popular Latin pop artist named Thalia. She was starting her own pet line and wanted to introduce new prints and patterns in dog and cat beds as well as blankets.
DESIGN PROBLEM: To create trend boards to help establish her branding, as well as choose appropriate Pantone colors to be used throughout the different designs. Design and mock up pet beds, blankets, and pillows that fit into each design trend.
DESIGN PROCESS: We started with choosing colors that she felt best described her and her brand, colors that spoke to her. Once those were chosen, we picked Pantone colors that closely matched that and added some additional colors that paired well. I researched different pet patterns currently being sold in stores such as HomeGoods, Marshalls, Burlington and tried to make designs that specifically tied back into the Thalia brand. As well as creating patterns and prints in English, we also added Spanish phrases to help reach more of her consumers.
DESIGN SOLUTION: Once the designs were finished, I mocked up all the different options and added them to their respective trend boards. Thalia was left with a full collection and options in pet beds and throw blankets in each color category that she originally established.

During my time at THRO as well as freelancing i’ve had the opportunity to work with clients such as Homegoods, Marshalls, TJMaxx, Macy’s, Tuesday Morning, and more. I’ve created prints and patterns for decorative pillows and throws for all different holidays including Halloween, Valentines day, and Christmas. Some of my work has been featured in HomeGoods advertisements.
