First we build habits, then they build us.
Canary
An athleisure clothing company for women. A company that pays homage to Amelia Earhart, the first female pilot to fly solo across the Atlantic Ocean.
DESIGN PROBLEM: To design a logo and branding pieces for an athleisure wear company. A logo that will emit the comfort and freedom of wearing exercise clothing while working out or relaxing. To have a unique look to the design that stands out from the rest of companies that call to the same audience.
DESIGN PROCESS: When researching Amelia Earhart, I found that she was also a fashion designer so I chose to create a clothing company. I decided to name the company after her first plane “Canary”. It was appropriate to use the color yellow in all the designs because of the name: canary yellow and to emit the idea of freedom, I used a bird as the main icon.
DESIGN SOLUTION: By using the stark yellow and white in the final design, it makes the logo stand out but also keeps it simple enough to be added to clothing and still readable across all mediums (print, digital ads, and fabric). I wanted to create a few branding items to be used across the company that still emit the principles from the logo, so I created a stationary set, digital advertisements, and packaging.
